Assessment and treatment of kidney and ureteral stones using modern techniques.
Book a ConsultationKidney stones are hard deposits that form in the kidneys when certain minerals and salts in the urine become concentrated. They can vary in size and may cause significant pain when they move through the urinary tract. Symptoms can include severe flank pain, blood in the urine, nausea, and difficulty passing urine.
Treatment depends on the size, location, and composition of the stone. Smaller stones may pass on their own with adequate fluid intake and pain management. Larger or more complex stones may require intervention, which can include endoscopic removal (where instruments are passed through the bladder), extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL), or, in some cases, laparoscopic ureterolithotomy.
Dr Naudé will assess your condition with appropriate imaging and recommend the most suitable approach for your situation.
